Naturopathic doctors work to identify underlying causes of illness and develop personalized treatment plans to address them. We will systematically:
1) Test for specific ailments. Every acquired abnormality can be traced back to these four categories; Brain Chemistry, Hormonal Imbalance, Gut Imbalance (Intestinal/Nutritional) and Pathogenic Infection (Viral, Bacterial, Protozoa, etc.) Our method consists of:
Genetic Testing. An individual can inherit or acquire an abnormality. Inherited conditions are ones that involve genetics. We can't change our genes, but we can discourage the expression of a "bad" genes by treating acquired disorders which stem from toxins that destroy the blood brain barrier (BBB) and attack the sensitive neurons; they also attack the myelin sheath (80% fat) responsible for relaying information in the brain (60% fat.)
Laboratory Testing. Cellular mechanisms focusing on action potential electricity, cell membrane integrity, and bonds between the cell and its matrix. We address the crucial relationship between each bodily system including restoration of neurotransmitters, gut integrity, hormonal systems, and immune function (pathogenic infection potential.)
Electrical Activity. In order to restore electrical activity and harmony, we focus on improving cellular efficiency, reducing inflammation, increasing calming neurotransmitters and ensuring all elimination pathways are operating properly. We accomplish this by removing toxins as we replenish vital nutritional deficiencies in the brain and body.
2) Remove Obstacles to Health. Health, the “natural state” of one’s body, is disturbed by obstacles that lead to disease. The first step in returning to health is to remove the entities that disturb health such as: poor diet, digestive disturbances, inappropriate and chronic stress levels, toxic environmental exposure and individual disharmony. Yes, this means changes in lifestyle!
3) Purge toxins to ready the Self-Healing Mechanisms. NDs use therapies to detoxify, stimulate and strengthen the body’s innate self-healing and curative abilities. These therapies include modalities such as clinical nutrition, botanical medicines, constitutional hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and acupuncture.
4) Strengthen Weakened Immune Systems. Systems that need repair are addressed at this level of healing. Naturopathic doctors have an arsenal of therapeutics available to enhance specific tissues, organs or systems including: lifestyle interventions, dietary modifications, botanical medicine, orthomolecular therapy (use of substances that occur naturally in the body such as vitamins, amino acids, minerals), and homeopathy.
5) Correct Structural Integrity. Physical modalities such as spinal manipulation, massage therapy, trigger point, cupping, M.A.T., exercise and energetic therapy are used to improve and maintain skeletal and musculature integrity.
6) Use Natural Substances to Restore and Regenerate. Naturopathic medicine’s primary objective is to restore health, not to treat pathology. However, when a specific pathology must be addressed, NDs employ safe, effective, natural substances that do not add toxicity or additionally burden the already distressed body.
